April Fool’s Day, an absolute disaster for Volkswagen

Like every April 1st, everyone tries to make the best April Fool’s Day. Some go a little too far and end up regretting it, as Volkswagen.

The world’s leading car manufacturer chose to launch its April fool’s joke on March 30 by unveiling a new logo and a new brand name on social networks and posted the following announcement: “We know 66 is an unusual age to change our name, but we’ve always been young at heart. This is Volkswagen. It’s like Volkswagen, but with a special focus on electric driving. It starts with our all-new ID.4 100 percent electric SUV – available now.”

In addition to having severely damaged the confidence of the media, which took this publication at face value, this joke has most certainly damaged the public image of the brand.
